About

Hey there and thanks for visiting my blog! This blog is the home for my personal views on threat intelligence. Since 2012, I’ve worked in-the-trenches as an analyst / practitioner and as a consultant who’s helped to design, build, and run threat intelligence programs for Fortune 500 organizations.

With a liberal arts education and with mentorship from career civilian and military intelligence officers, my approach to threat intelligence has always focused on crisp communication, answering the “so what?” for intelligence consumers, and providing network defenders and strategic decision makers with defensive options (see, “actionable intelligence!”) to protect and enable the business.

I started this blog in April 2015 with several goals in mind:

  • To share my perspectives on threat intelligence and tradecraft and (hopefully) advance the practice of threat intel work.
  • To exercise and develop my technical knowledge and skills.
  • To explore and research new topics.

  1. Christian,
I stumbled across your blog and am impressed with your work. Interested to open dialogue. I run a team of cyber intel analysts as the Director of the Global Threat Intelligence Center at Optiv (formerly FishNet Security). Cheers and keep up the good work.
